"While I do not work with children directly, I’m passionate about family law because it allows me to assist clients with parenting issues with the goal of resolving conflicts in the best interests of their children."

Full Bio

Erin Simpson
Associate, B.A., LL.B.

Erin has been practising family law since 2007 and has experience with mediation, collaborative, and litigation. She primarily represents clients who have child-centered legal needs related to child support, custody and access.

Clients appreciate working with Erin because she negotiates resolutions that are in the children’s best interests. When children are involved in a legal matter, she typically recommends seeking settlements outside the courtroom to avoid unnecessary delays and conflicts, but Erin has also been known to vigorously pursue litigation when absolutely necessary. Given the emotional nature of her work, she often sees clients get caught-up in parenting and legal conflicts, but she strongly believes the best outcomes are produced when the focus is kept on the children’s needs.

Erin learned through her parents’ separation that divorce does not need to be hostile or combative. Their commitment to remain amicable for her and her sister’s benefit has resulted in close relationships and annual family vacations to Florida!
