I have practised exclusively in family law since my call to the bar, and provide smart, practical, and effective representation for my clients. I went to law school in the United Kingdom and decided early in my education that I wanted to practice family law. By studying law abroad and training with barristers in London, I had the opportunity to develop a wide-ranging and truly international perspective on family law.
After returning to my hometown of Toronto, and prior to joining Stanchieri Family Law, I articled and practiced at a well-known boutique family law and estates firm. In my practice, I now work with my clients to focus on comprehensive solutions that work best for each individual and their family. I have extensive experience advocating for clients at all levels of court in Ontario. Since beginning in family law as an articling student, I have been involved in significant trial and appellate work, as well as frequent mediation-arbitration matters. In litigation, I achieve positive results for my clients while working in an efficient and cost-effective manner. I understand that one of the most important aspects of a family law matter is communication, and ensure that clients are involved in each step in their case.
I represent clients in all aspects of divorce and separation, including support, property division, and custody and access. I also advise clients on marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements, which range from straightforward to sophisticated contracts. I enjoy working on all types of family law matters, from complex financial issues, to international and interjurisdictional disputes, or high-conflict child-related disputes. I believe individuals are most likely to encounter family law issues than any other type of law, and that it can have a significant, long-term impact on a person’s life. As a family lawyer, I have the honour of advocating for clients through the family law system.
My commitment to families extends beyond my work as a family lawyer. In my spare time, I volunteer at the Court of Appeal with Pro Bono Ontario providing free legal advice to family law litigants in appeals. In my community, I sit on the Board of Directors of East York East Toronto Family Resources which provides a wide range of services and programs to families in the east end community, including child care, school readiness, and housing programs.
Great experience! I had the pleasure of working with Katelynn Schoop on a recent contract, and she was great. Katelynn explained everything to me, she is patient and answered all my questions. I highly recommend their services.
I highly recommend Stanchieri Family Law. In fact, it was the best decision I made when choosing my legal representation for what turned out to be the two most difficult years of my life. I am forever grateful to Adrienne Lee, Ashley Kennedy, and Katelynn Schoop for their dedication and support they provided me during my separation and divorce. We were successful in achieving all our goals in a timely manner and it was a result of their hard work, passion, and persistence. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.
Katelynn assisted with a matter involving a family member of mine. We found her to be very knowledgeable and professional. She offers good advice coming from a solid legal background in Family Law and appreciated having had her on our team.
I was represented by Julie Stanchieri during my recent separation and divorce and could not have been more pleased with the outcomes. Julie and her team which included Ashley and Katelynn handled every detail and concern with a high level of care and expertise. Everyone at the firm is extremely professional and efficient as well as a pleasure to deal with. Going through a divorce is a highly emotional event in one’s life and Julie and her team approached everything with compassion and understanding. Her diligence and attention to detail ensured that my settlement was fair and protected my best interests.
Without hesitation I would highly recommend Julie and the entire team of professionals at Stanchieri Family Law!
I don’t know where to start , but here goes. I used a lawyer which I will not mention for about 30 months prior to Stanchieri Family Law. Slow and very painful with little results, but some minor issues where resolved. Costly for what I got. I was referred to Christine M from Stanchieri Family Law Dec of 2016 we had a meeting for about 90 to 120 mins to discuss my case. Straightforward she explained every detail, Now People listen to me I spend 30 months suffering with my first lawyer. By Feb 2017 we where in court and again in May 2017. The difference of going with a firm you have a team working with you not for you like my first lawyer. The ultimate goal is met. Now people I’m a 47 year old man with a Beautiful 6 year old girl that I have joint custody full weekend sleepovers. Now life is awesome. Last but not least in my case our teams bill was 35% cheaper then the opposing side. One other thing I want to share Christine and Katelynn I can’t thank you two enough you’ve changed two people’s life’s forever God Bless. You want the job done call the team for results.
I contacted Adrienne Lee for legal advice respecting my existing separation agreement (prepared by another lawyer and law firm) and my right to renegotiate several provisions which were unfair. Adrienne was professional, competent and provided excellent advice as to my legal rights and strategy especially in dealing with my spouse’s difficult and adversarial lawyer. She also provide me with a realistic assessment of the legal risks if we were to proceed to trial. Her legal fees were fair and reasonable and, in particular, a firm associate, Katelynn Schoop, attended and assisted on the mediation at no additional cost. I intend to retain Adrienne Lee for further advice respecting my separation agreement if and when necessary. I would highly recommend Adrienne Lee and Stanchieri Family Law.
It’s rewarding to know that clients trust me to be their advocate and help them reach a resolution.
